Box Score The CCC women's basketball team had an impressive performance against East Central on Monday night. The Lady Tigers allowed just 10 points throughout the entire first half, while scoring 27 in the second quarter.
Coahoma's lead expanded in the third quarter as the Maroon and White led 49-18 going into the fourth. The final score was 62-31 in favor of the Lady Tigers.
CCC's Elishia Wilson led all scorers with 19 points, while Janiya Jones tallied four 3-pointers en route to a 14-point performance for the Lady Tigers.
Jamyia Bowen led Coahoma in rebounding with eight. Tiana and Tiara Abron each recorded three steals, which led the team.
Sequoia Bouldin, Mackenzie Carter, Marshayla Purnell, and Jamea Smith also contributed valuable minutes for coach Stephanie Murphy's team.
Monday's matchup marked the first official conference game of the 2022-23 season for CCC.
The Lady Tigers are now 5-3 (1-0 MACCC) this season; ECCC is 3-8 (0-2 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game will be played at Hinds Community College on Thursday, Jan. 12. That matchup is slated to start at 6:00 p.m.
