The Coahoma Community College women's basketball hosted Baton Rouge Community College on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022. The matchup featured the first home game of the 2022-23 regular season for the Lady Tigers.

BRCC began the game with an 11-2 run, but the Lady Tigers led 34-26 at halftime. Coahoma scored an impressive 27 points in the second quarter.

CCC tallied seven 3-pointers in the quarter as Tiara Abron and Janiya Jones accounted for two, while Marshayla Purnell recorded three. The other six points scored by Coahoma in the quarter were recorded by Elishia Wilson or Mackenzie Carter.

Jones, Purnell, Wilson, Sequoia Bouldin, Jamyia Bowen, Tiana Abron, and Jamea Smith each scored for Coahoma in the third quarter. Going into the fourth quarter; the Lady Tigers led 55-45.

Jones tallied eight points for CCC in the fourth quarter; making two 3-pointers in the process. Coahoma was outscored in the final quarter, but won the game 68-62. CCC is now 2-2 (0-0 MACCC) this season.

The Lady Tigers tallied 10 3-pointers in the matchup. Jones accounted for five, while Purnell and Tiara Abron combined to tally the other half.

Coahoma's next matchup is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 17, against Mississippi Delta Community College. That game will take place inside of the Pinnacle, and is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
